Event Summary
The Government has identified the Arc as a key economic priority for investment in housing, job creation, infrastructure and natural capital. Nearly three years on from The National Infrastructure Commission’s report ‘Partnering for Prosperity’, which highlighted the need to deliver one million new homes in the area by 2050, supported by developing the Oxford-to-Cambridge Expressway and East-West rail line, Planning Directors David Bainbridge and Jonathan Dixon will take stock and give their views on how to make the most of this nationally-significant initiative.
Speakers:
David Bainbridge, Planning Director
David is a full Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, based in the Oxford office of Savills. He has been in private practice and local government since 1998, gradually working his way along the Arc having started in East Cambridgeshire and making it to Oxford via Northampton and Milton Keynes.
His specialism is planning advice for strategic and major-scale residential development and mixed-use development.
Jonathan Dixon, Planning Director
Jonathan is a full Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, based in the Cambridge office of Savills. He has been in private practice since 1998.
During his time in practice, Jonathan has been involved in a wide range of projects throughout the UK and Ireland in which he has advised public and private sector clients on issues of planning policy, development control and design. His experience includes the preparation, submission and management of numerous planning applications and appeals.
In addition to his professional experience, Jonathan has held various roles with the Royal Town Planning Institute and is an Associate Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
