Constructing Excellence Berkshire: The Latest on UK R&D Funding and How To Win It

CE Oxford has secured 20 tickets for this CE Berkshire event.

Dr Kimberley Steed German and Dr Sarah Werts are Business Relationship Managers at the University of Reading’s Knowledge Transfer Centre, responsible for building and developing partnerships with industry. Together, they have more than a decade’s experience of Knowledge Exchange, with expertise in consultancy services, collaborative R&D grant funding, local growth and regeneration funding & policy, commercialisation, and innovation networks & accelerators.

For businesses interested in growing through innovation and planning to develop new products, processes or services, this briefing from the University of Reading’s Knowledge Transfer Centre will help explain what R&D grants are available, how to know if they are right for your business and how to apply for them.

Dr Kimberley Steed German and Dr Sarah Werts help organisations  apply for a share of millions of pounds of financial support available from Innovate UK for the development of world-class technologies. They help guide companies through the innovation funding landscape and share knowledge of some of the more popular funding schemes, including Smart Grants, KTPs and the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, with hints and tips for writing a competitive application to increase your chances of successfully securing funding for your own business.

Hear more about some of the ways that the University and businesses are working together on Built Environment R&D projects from Dr Cara Mulholland, who will share insights from her work with Stantec on a social value toolkit that is changing the way decisions are made about strategic land development. Dr Ruth Dowsett will report on the findings of an ISCF Transforming Construction Network Plus project on business model innovation for SMEs transitioning to an automated supply chain.
