G4C Site visit to

The Dorothy Wadham Building

On the corner of Iffley Road and Percy Street

 16:00, Thursday 18th October 2018

G4C invites you to a site tour of the Dorothy Wadham Building on the corner of Iffley Road and Percy Street. Places are very limited so please sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The tour is at 4pm as the site closes down at 5:30pm and PPE is provided.

The Dorothy Wadham Building, designed by Allies and Morrison, is a student residential quad designed specifically for the second year undergraduates of Wadham College, Oxford on a site located in the Iffley Fields, south-east of Oxford’s town centre.

The concrete building clad in brick and CLT covers an area of 5432 sqm and will provide accommodation for 134 students.

The design challenges included natural ventilation and light, usage of attenuated acoustic vents to reduce the busy Iffley Road noise as well as building near the conservation area and sharing party walls with neighbouring properties.

The main structure is completed, with CLT roof and internal finishes being put in place over the next couple of weeks.

Who is invited:

All young professionals within the construction industry in the Oxford area – whether you are completing a construction related degree, newly embarking on your career, working towards a professional qualification, or recently qualified in your field of expertise.  As a rule of thumb, anyone who has been involved in construction for up to 10 years is a “young professional”.

Attendance at our events is free for CE Oxford G4C members. Due to the extremely limited number of spaces, this event is only open to current CE members. To find out if your company has a corporate membership please contact: jack.strickland@fgould.com
