OXFORD CONSTRUCTING EXCELLENCE CLUB INVITES YOU TO:

"New Standards for Waterproofing Design and Installation  - how to avoid getting it wrong!"

Presented by Ian Maclennan

at

Thatcher Business Education Centre, Said Business School, Park End Street, Oxford, OX1 1HP

on

Thursday 23rd February 2023, 12:30 PM - 02:30 PM

The presentation is an essential masterclass in basement waterproofing design and the new British Standard 8102 covering:

  • Design considerations
  • Different types of waterproofing
  • Legal precedence affecting design
  • Failed systems
  • Remedial options
  • How to avoid pitfalls & much more!
Ian was part of the small team which re-wrote the British Standard on waterproofing. There are significant changes, which should help prevent the huge number of avoidable failures presently occurring by ensuring good design and avoiding split liability.

Ian is MD of a company that designs 1400 basements a year and installs over 200 basement waterproofing systems. His company works for architects, engineers and contractors and takes full design and installation liability.

As an expert with over 30 years' experience in the industry, Ian is well placed to talk authoritatively about good design, why so many basements fail to be watertight and cost far more than they should, and why guarantees are so often of no benefit to the client or main contractor.

This seminar is an essential best practice session for consultants and contractors, and will be of great interest to those in the legal profession drafting construction contracts or dealing with claims around defective design and construction.

A light buffet will be available from 12.30pm. The lecture commences at 1pm lecture.  The session will end before 2.30pm. Please confirm any dietary requirements by response to this invitation.

Note: This seminar is accessed through the side entrance to the Thatcher Business Education Centre via the train station bus stop / drop off / taxi rank.

If you are suffering from any Covid type symptoms, we ask that you refrain from attending.
